Yes, PLA (polylactic acid), which is made from renewable and natural raw materials (e.g. corn starch), is compostable. However, it requires slightly different conditions in terms of moisture and heat than those found in your garden compost, i.e. more like those found in industrial composting plants.

But why compost when you can melt down the plastic and make new filament? And that almost infinitely...?

There are many types and models of crutches and walking sticks and besides, all people are different sizes. Therefore, we have made sure that it can be used on everyone and that the length can be easily adjusted. 

Just note that the tube diameter must be between 16.0 and 22.0mm for the foot and between 19.0 and 25.0mm for the handle. In addition, the tube above the rubber buffer must be about 7 - 8 cm continuous, so that there is room for the stand element, see photo.

Yes, and whether it is a classic crutch, an armpit crutch, a forearm crutch or a walking stick, it doesn't matter any more.

And if you have a crutch or a walking stick that does not allow the installation of a « Neo » or a « Neo+ », we would be happy if you could send us a photo with as many details as possible, such as tube diameter, manufacturer, etc. to info@crutch-up.ch, so that the next generation of the Neo really works for everyone.

But no, not at all, we claim you won't even notice it. And the benefit you will have is far greater than the 65g of the « Neo » or 220g of the « Neo+ ».

You may produce as many « Neos » as you like with a paid and downloaded file, but you should not sell them. For that you would have to contact us so that we can talk about it.

No. Although the «Neo» is described as a medical device, it is not covered by the Swiss Medical Devices Ordinance (MedDO, 812.213), which is closely based on the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

Article 3 of the MedDO defines what is considered a medical device. Clause 3 provides the definition for "medical device accessories". Since the «Neos» are not a medical device, but are used in conjunction with a medical device (crutches or walking stick), BUT neither under lit. a. or b. are not necessary for the fulfilment of the actual intended purpose of the medical device, they do not fall under this category and therefore do not require certification, neither in Switzerland, nor in the European Union.
